VSA at Dollywood

On Oct. 10, 2008, at 10am (Eastern time) VSA arts Tennessee will feature several of its Young Soloist winners along with Carol Ponder in a concert at Dollywood Theme Park. This program is open to anyone who is visiting the park. However, free admission for special education students has been generously provided by B & W Y-12 Foundation, The East Tennessee Foundation through the William and Susan Packard Fund and the Conner Fund. In addition, the performance is supported by Dollywood with funding from the Tennessee Arts Commission.

VSA at the Country Music Hall of Fame

On Oct. 21 & 23, 2008, VSA arts Tennessee will host an event for special education students at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville. At this event, the students will tour the facility, participate in a number of hands on activities and be treated to a performance by musicians with disabilities.

This program was offered free of charge due to the gracious support of Harman Becker Automotive Systems and Publix Supermarket Charities.

A similar program for special education students was offered in 2007 at the Wildhorse featuring dancers with disabilities and in 2006 at the Ryman Auditorium featuring musicians with disabilities. That program also included an evening performance for the general public.
